This movement promotes strength through the posterior chain of muscles
Ensure that individuals have adequate movement in the hip joint (especially in the sagittal plane)
Ensure that the client does not have excessive kyphosis in the thoracic spine (if so, initiate a corrective strategy to deal with pelvic and thoracic curve imbalance)
Use the front carry hold shown
Position feet shoulder-width apart
Maintain an athletic stance throughout this exercise
With a tall spine and knees lightly bent, flex forward at the hips
Keep the ViPR held high and tight to the chest
Ascend back to standing
Limit range of motion
Use a lighter ViPR
Use a heavier ViPR
Perform exercise on one leg
